THE ENCHANTRESS

With an outstretched arm,
a face , radiating the warm ,
rays of the sun , as they ,
danced on her face.
The emotions are given birth ,
anger , love , hatred and mirth .

As the beautiful enchantress ,
her soft hands , clinging to her frock ;
walks towards me , bare-foot ...
A cool breeze , heavy with her scent ,
intoxicates me , blinds me , burns me .

And yet , I stand rooted ,
for my past yearns for me ,
cries for me and lives for me .
For I am nothing without my past:
and my my past , nothing , without me !

I can see her walk ,
a spring in every step ,
a smile that forces you to smile ,
and glittering eyes , that
keeps you stunned.

And yet , I stand firm.
For I cannot let go ,
of that , which made me ,
what I am .

She reaches for me ,
her curly black hair , enticing me ,
and her scent , burning my interiors,
and then , she bends , parts her lips,
and whispers into my ear -

"The past is a burden and a treasure .
A burden to those who have nothing to learn.
A treasure to those who have nothing to loose.
Let it not tire you with its weight.
Let it not dazzle you with its brilliance."

And than , I could look her in the eye ,
as we streamed thoughts , through glances ;
I embraced her with utmost gentleness,
for she was so perfect, no pure ;
and her touch - inflamed the very soul of me.

...and , she was gone ,
But I , I had changed .

As i stand today, at a crossroad ,
A future beckons me,
a new life awaits me,
a new chance seeks me;
with the same enchanting smile on her face.

I embrace my future with utmost gentleness;
and a smile imprints itself on my face.

May it be a treasure ,
that surpasses the one that,
is etched in every vein that runs across me,
and every drop of blood that keeps me alive.

An Ode to Opinion sheet

o thee opinion sheet,
given,when teachers deem fit.

for us,its a holy grail,
for it, we pale nd wail.

as days go by,
we wait to say them 'hi'.

some're waiting with a file,
hoping they would pile.

In delhi,this big city,
for them,there's no pity.

o teachers,i do sympathize,
but no, i can't empathize.

write you will, good-good things,
give,your imagination wings.

your opinion , may not change,
you've got a very small range.

but, just in case it does,
we'll have nothing much to fuss.

we'll not say 'woof--woof'
coz we'll have a good proof-proof....

4th may

life has become monotonous.....its under a spell of non-action and listlessness....there 's a kind of calm that has set into my life--the kind that usually spells out the onset of a tempest- a tempest so immensely powerful that it threatens to engulf your identity. Yet, giving up is the first sign of defeat..and so have i decided to wage on the battle and take on life with a new found curiosity and purpose. It has been tough with one blow after the other...as what i thought were my strongholds...crumpled like ninepins...and the cards that held my hope fell like dominoes..

to lose and not to concede defeat is the way of life. And today i do realise 1 thing for sure--to change the world is slightly less difficult than changing oneself...
